Reasons to get involved
|
Today, politics fills people with disillusionment. People feel turned off by the political process. We are constantly driven to vote for the "lesser of two evils", if we can be bothered to vote at all.
Politics centres around a right-wing agenda where arguments are held over which small tweaks should be done to the economic system. No matter whether Labour or Tories are in power the heads of City banks, stock-broking firms and commodity traders are laughing all the way to their million pound bonuses.
We are in the grip of the myth that "money = happiness"
We struggle to work longer and longer hours to pay off more and more debt because we have to buy more and more things to maintain our lifestyle that the adverts say we should have.
Happiness is for our retirement or can be found through prozac and our psychotherapists. After all, if I'm not happy then it must be my fault, right? Forget the fact that millions are unhappy....
How many more reasons to get involved do you need? :-)
In our Party we value human beings, we value fun, we value humour, and we don't take ourselves too seriously.
We refuse to suffer any longer for a situation we have not chosen. Ask yourselves, "In what conditions do I want to live, and what am I prepared to do to make it a reality?" |
